Angry Oh oh - Carpal Tunnel?

Anybody fish with Carpal Tunnel? I'm stoked for another Grand Bahama trip in March. Bugger- - both wrists are killing me. Tried to practice on the snow since it's warmed up a bit and wrists/forearm are severly limiting distance.

I'm a Forester - and sprayed many hundreds cans of paint marking trees in my youth. I supervise now, but think I'm paying the price?

Advise? Hints? VooDoo?

Most drug stores sell wrist stabilizers for this issue. They helped my symptoms.
However if you move the metal stabilizer out side your palm, even cut it short,
it actually takes a lot of "wrist action" out of your cast ! Result (my opinion) better casting.....good good straight, level tip plane........try it. I may get a patten for it !!!!!!!!!

I'd start with the wrist splints as mentioned above- either the OTC variety or by prescription from your doctor (and obtained at a medical supply store). Also a regular regimen of anti-inflammatory (I prefer Aleve- two tablets twice a day with food) for 2-3 weeks to reduce swelling and relieve pressure on the nerve passing through the carpal tunnel (the median nerve). If still having problems, consider seeing a hand specialist for cortisone shots at least a week prior to your March trip. If symptoms return after the cortisone shots wear off, then you could probably get one more round of cortisone shots before the surgeon would start really pressing you to get carpal tunnel release surgery.
Hope this helps...
Will that be one finger or TWO...

See a chiropractor. Carpal tunnel is over DX, get an exam, probably some sort of tendonitis.
