North Carolina - December

I'll be in Raleigh NC for Christmas and have the week off. I'm looking for saltwater flyfishing options that time of year. Any thing within a 5-6 hour drive would work. I'd love to find albies, reds, stripers, etc. Any one have any general information, guides, general areas, hotels, or any other recommendations? Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks

If the weather is decent the reds will be in the shallows around here. We usually have a decent spell around that time. You never know. it's about a 3 hr drive to Morehead City from the Triangle area. You will hear about striped bass out of Oregon Inlet, that fishing doesn't get really good until after New Years. Charleston may have some good fishing too, same as around here, reds in the shallows, more of them. About a 5 hr trip from Raleigh. All depends on the weather.

Joe- There may still be albies around Cape Lookout then, plus various other critters nearshore and offshore. Send me a pm- I might be able to hook you up with a boat ride.
