Finally...Some time off!

Things are a bit slow down here in Ct. unless you can hit the reefs. I have time to do some all day fishing but where? I'm willing to drive up to three hours from Ct. if it's worth the trip. Joppa.......Chatham........... The Bay............Plymouth. Time off begins now.... 5:30 PM thru Saturday.

Phil

FWIW - the reason I am 99.99% a Chatham guy is three-fold... Monomoy, National Seashore and Bayside. Sure it might be more like Chatham, Orleans and Brewster but they are all nestled in the elbow of the cape within a short strike from each other in fact you can hit them all in the same day staying in any of the three towns.

But Chatham is where my heart is, besides ChatorleawsterAngler.com sounds like crap

Joppa sucks without a boat, but thats' just my opinion. The flats are black mud and the tides are short-lived. Not enough fishing to fill a morning never mind a few days off.

Can't speak for any of the other choices although Plymouth can light up in fall as JimW will tell you.

Maybe I should just clam up since I don't know the other areas as well as the elbow. Oh yeah that reminds me the local softshells and oysters are hard to beat in any Chatham restaurant.

I do not work for the Chamber of Commerce hehe

Bayside has been hit or miss with the hit this past saturday being blitzing schoolies. Not sure it's worth the drive, but you never know. If you decide to take a ride early morning low on the bayside might be interesting then hop over to chat ham.

Phil, what about Millstone Powerplant there should be alibies showing up ? If I lived in your neck of the woods I would use your yak and get to those places that the powerboats could not get to . Just a suggestion. The cops will be all over the place on Labor Day and the traffic sucks big time. Just a suggestion. FishHawk

Thanks Bill. Heading to the UDL's in RI for some Bones on the incoming. I have not heard of any consistent action off Millstone except for Blues. Went out last night and found a few bass in the Stonington Point area. They were tough! Very selective and TONS of bait. Floating line and flatwings. Ken really knows his stuff.
I read that your Dad passed away. Very sorry to hear the news and I hope you are OK.

Ya there's no fish north of Boston in Sep. Especially Beverly harbor, don't go there.
Stay away from Ipswich too. waste of time.

Thanks Ron. Got inundated. I emptied the whole inbox. Vacation is over now. I had some unbelievable sightfishing thanks to some suggestions from our fellow fly flingers. Very glad I stuck around. My daughter hooked and released her first flyrod caught fish on Wed. and now understands my sickness. It was a bluefish that weighed over ten on the Boga. Fought like the dickens! On Thursday I spotted over three hundred fish on the flats. Saw fish on the entire dropping tide. All they wanted were the bunker pods. Very difficult. Waqve after wave of peanut pods coming right at us all afternoon. Wish you were here to help me solve the puzzle earlier into the game. Emptied my box. My friend handed me a Ken Abrames September Night fly and I began hooking fish only if cast to breaking pods. There is something to said about lavender!

Lavender, soon there won`t be any secrets left at all! Oh by the way, he`s not bragging but some one told me that he picked up a grand slam during his mini vac. This keeping quiet is getting to be hard.
