B-Bay Slowing Down

Well, spent Wed/Thur in Bourne. Fished our usual shore haunts in the evenings & mornings. Nothing really going on, talked to a few people who were having the same experience all week. A few schoolies & some small blues. It was windy all week & we saw no signs of consentrated bait. I think the winds have really put a damper on fishing, but this could also be the beggining of the B-Bay dog-days. I did hear a report that some big fish were still being caught in the deep rips around the Elizabeths.

I brought my boat back up this way, because we have seen a lot more fish & bait on the North Shore. However, the weather for this weekend does not look great for boating. I have Monday & Tuesday off, but I have an in-law thing to go to up at Lake Winapasauki (Sp?). I'm wondering if it is worth hauling my 19' boat up there for a day of crusing?

RE:B-Bay Slowing Down

Greg,

Don't bother if it isn't already registered in NH. And if you want to register it DON'T go through a marina up there they are known to severely screw you with phantom fees. Go directly through the state of NH to register it. The lake police are always looking for unregisted boats.

If you do wind up putting it in the water to fish you'll need to get deep for trout and salmon. Smallmouths can usually be picked up in the bays when spawning but it may be too early for that.

I've been told that there is a NH State Registry for boats in Salem. Glad to hear your boat is up here Greg. I hope we can get some more hot fishing. How about Rockport or Salem Harbors?

Sully
What do you mean by:
Don't bother if it isn't already registered in NH.
Are you implying that you have to register your boat in NH to use it in NH ????

Terry,
I just bought the N. Shore Charts. I'd like to launch out of Salisbury. Try the Front beach, Mouth of the Parker's & Essex Rivers? What do you think?

Sully - I think what Greg is asking is if his boat is already registered in MA does it also need to be registered in NH? If so, this is the absolute worst policy I've ever heard. Imagine if the same were true for cars? The tourist industry would not stand for it.

Al,
Yeah, that's exactly what I mean !! ??

Terry,
I would be willing to try Rockport or Salem, but I'd like to take someone you knows the launches & the various Ins-and-outs of that area.

RE:B-Bay Slowing Down

Well the way I remember it was you needed a NH registration sticker on your boat no matter what. I don't know if that's still the case. I'd make sure though.
