Hey Bob...

Lathrop and I fished down in the keys the last few days of June. The big push of fish was pretty much over, but we jumped fish every day and had some fun.

You got any water left out there? Looks like the river closings are setting in. I saw the park was going to a voluntary closure from 12:00 to 6:00. Thinking about waiting till mid September to come out.

Malcolm

PS. Hello Trevor. Hope you are well

I'd hold off tell then. The Yellowstone is green with moss and pushing 72 degrees.
The creeks are awesome but the PMDs are not really coming off like they should with the heat, though we have had some nice spinner falls in the mornings. I think they will be tough as well in about a month.

Good looking tarpon, just a little too big for my taste! I like those nice 20 pounders.

Hey Trevor,
Bill has a month and half old daughter now so his life is pretty much over . Don't hold your breath on a video. It took a year and a half for me to get some tarpon footage from him a couple of years ago. I asked him about it down on the keys and he said he get around to it. We will see.

All the best.

Malcolm

PS. Bob,
I got my info email on Acklins. You have a cook?!! No more tuna fish on a tortilla? Sounds fancy.

Trevor, fly fishing for carp is a great way to practice for bones in the north! The carp here in wny on the upper niagara river are as picky as some of the toughest bones too.
I'll be on Acklins from March 1-8 so far--when are you guys going?

Nice shot of that airborne tarpon Malcolm!

Yes the Carp are a lot of fun and quite similar to fishing for bones in many ways, I was lucky enough to get an invite for a few days fishing for them and I learned a lot from my very gracious host, skills I hope I can put to use fishing for bones next year.
I have tried to include a picture but I can not get it on with my post, not sure why ?

Really nice picture of the flying Tarpon Malcolm !
