Charter boat needed...

First off, I've looked through the forum sponsors and everybody only has small boats. My mom wants to book a trip for some fishing, but the boat needs to have a regular bathroom in it. Any recommendations? I figure we'll be going after stripers and blues, and who knows, maybe even a tuna or two.

I would recommend Captain Bruce Peters from Chatham. You might inquire about the bathroom though. Great family experience and one of the fishiest mofos on the sea.

Does "regular bathroom" mean normal seat size and height and electric flush?

Scott,

I've had that same situation on board without a head.

Helpful Hints:

Usually you make sure the clients are Ok before the trips even starts.
Limit the intake of liquids helps during the trip. Cold mornings, people drink less anyway, so that works out.
Depends on where the trips goes. There are plenty of access points around where you can motor to a dock and use a public restroom at some shop.
And the last option but less user friendly is everyone else watch for submarines at the bow.

You can contact Capt Ron McVickar of the "Banshee". He has been running out of Stage Harbor Marine on Bridge street for 40yrs. I had the privilege of being his first mate way back when. He has the beautiful deep blue 31 BHM moored off the causeway. He is a six pack boat and the "Banshee" has a stand up head.

Ron is truely the best of the best Chatham has to offer for Charter boats.

508-945-0403 for reservations.

And please tell him Keith from the Rip Ryder sent you.

I appreciate the PMs I've gotten and the suggestions on how to get by without a head, but here's a little more info. My mom is 65 years old and has had 4 kids, and for anybody that doesn't have kids, basically what I've figured out from what my mom, wife, and other moms have said to me and in passing is you can figure each kid takes one hour off the amount of time you need between bathroom breaks. So for my mom, at best give her maybe 3 hours even if she's not drinking much, and on a hot boat in the summer on the ocean, you're going to have to drink plenty of fluids. She wants to do a full day charter so a regular bathroom is a must. One of those big center consoles with a head in the console might be doable, but she's 5'9 and built like a Viking woman and even if she wasn't 65 with a bad hip, back, and the other joint ailments that go along with 25 years of farming and just being that age, she would have a tough time squeezing through one of the doors on those things.

I've been boating my whole life and have been on hundreds of boats and I know that I'll need an offshore capable fishing boat in order to get a bathroom that's big enough.

I haven't had a chance to check out the places recommended here or in my PMs but if anybody has any further suggestions based on the additional info I've provided, please let me know! It's not every day you get offered an all expenses paid charter!

Due to my schedule and my mom's, I'm looking at late August btw.

I think what I've said above tells everything now.

Rhody or MA, doesn't matter to me. Even eastern CT might be ok, though I'd prefer to find somebody closer to home.

Thanks Keith, shot him an email and said you recommended him. That boat looks right along the lines of what I want! Thanks again!

Hello Scott:

I would second Juro's recommendation of Bruce Peters. I have taken my boys out with him several times and the guys in the office on two other occasions. Everyone has been pleased with the outing. By the way he has a new boat which is bigger and it has a head. I have been on it with the guys in the office. I would give him a call or email him. Bruce is quite a fisherman.
