Some things never change...

...and some do.
I just stumbled on this old photo and was tickled because I had just posted the pic earlier this week of the stripers Matt and I caught.
This pic was taken in the exact same spot as the one from the other night. I don't know the date but it would have been within a few days of the same month and day as the recent one. Even the tide would have been within a couple of hours as the other night. The only difference is Matt wasn't even born yet!
Besides the location, tide, and day of the month being the same, notice the reel. The old Lamson looks alot worse for the wear these days but it's still my prime reel for the 9 wt. The Sage rod is not the same exact one but only because I ended up breaking it at some point. The one I use today is the replacement Sage sent me. Even the fly hanging from the fish's mouth looks like a carbon copy of the one I used the other night. I guess I'm the only thing in the picture that has changed much.

Here's the one from the other night for comparison.

Only thing missing in the older photo is the smiley face button ala 1970's
Will that be one finger or TWO...

But.....the newer photo appears to be one of you holding a larger fish. Some things get better with age. LOL!

So many places to fish.. friends to little time.
