Another Turkey moved into the neighborhood

Woke up a few weeks ago to see a big Tom through my kitchen window standing on my back deck pecking at his reflection in one of the glass doors.

I wouldn't think this odd.......BUT THIS IS LONG ISLAND NEW YORK, not the Catskills or the Gaspe.

Too bad I gave my bow away a few years back or this bird would have been history. I sat for a long while admiring his feathers. Would have skinned him and had some good eating....

A high powered sling shot and a bag of marbles is a great "close range" weapon for these types of situations. Squirels, crows,etc. I agree Howie,, he wouldn't have made it off the deck if he wandered around here
