Hardys in the salt

Just got a smokin' deal I couldn't refuse on a Hardy Gem MKII 10/11. Plan to use it mostly for salmon and steelhead here in MI. Wondered if anybody had any input on use for my once a year trip to the Keys. The Hardy website says all will be good, but would like to hear from people who use it that aren't affiliated with Hardy.

Once a year with a good washing just about anything should be fine. Frequent use in salt... I would get a real sealed deal like Daniellson offers.

For any of you Hardy Perfect owners out there:

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PERFECTS TO THE SALT!!!!

Despite daily baths in copious amounts of fresh water, my Perfect 3 7/8 definitely suffered skin blemishes from contact with brackish (not marine) water.

Take care,

Eric
