First Salmon Contest

First sea-run adult atlantic salmon caught on the north american eastern seaboard by a pre-registered member on a fly, photographed and released in 2001 wins a large Wheatley salmon fly clip fly box with swingleaf, personalized with optional engraved image of the fish on the cover. The box will contain one dozen atlantic salmon patterns as well.

Grilse do not count. Contest runs indefinitely until won. Member must be registered in flytalk before catching the fish to win.

RE:First Salmon Contest

The original spirit of this contest was to challenge someone to catch a salmon in the NE United States... where such an event would warrant a decent prize. But since I was so vague in the details (probably enjoying a Macallan at the time) it technically includes New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, etc...

Therefore, as long as entrants are signed up in FlyTalk before the fish is caught, and all other criteria is met (grilse, et. al.) - then by all means! Everyone in the North Atlantic, both sides - is in the running.

Thanks for your interest and good luck Mr.Gunn!
