Acklins Airline Advice

I should be getting on a plane about now traveling from Nassau to Spring Point on Acklins Island-but I'm still home, instead leaving tonight.

My Friday flight (jet blue) out of Buffalo going to Philadelphia (and then to Nassau) was canceled, and there were no other flights available that I could take to get to Nassau on Friday. (busy holiday travel weekend) Therefore, I missed the Saturday flight from Nassau to Acklins.

In the past, I would have had to wait until Wednesday to get to Acklins, but there is a new airline that goes from Nassau to Acklins on Monday--Pineapple Air. I am scheduled to fly on them this Monday, and I will report back on how they are. Hopefully they will continue Monday service for a long time.

So if you should happen to miss your Saturday am flight to Acklins, you do have the option now of going on Monday, instead of waiting until Wednesday and losing four days of your trip.

Wwwwwwhhhheeeewwwww!!! Lost my passport. There is only one place I keep it and I was shocked when it wasn't there. We just moved so there really was no place to even look.

It's one thing to lose something and have a million places to look, a whole different ball game when you have nowhere that it could be.

Bottom line is I tore the house apart and found it! Fell out of my files and way under the bed before the bed was even there.

I feel for you Vince. Best of luck on Monday. Are you going to knock around Nassau for the weekend?

Knock on wood, I hope this was my one glitch for our trip. I'm off to put the house back together....

Dave

Yes, here is the number for Pineapple air: 1-242-377-0140

I get into Nassau Sunday am, and will try and find a private charter that I can bum a ride on to Acklins or Crooked, and if none available I'll take Pineapple Air on monday am--it departs at 8:30 am--same time as the Bahamasair flights on Sat and Wed.

I'll just practice casting on the beach, have a beer or two and kick around Nassau--and stay out of the casinos!

Glad you found your passport!

A good idea is to make several copies and keep them in different places at your house, and also bring at least one on your trip. If you lose your real passport, at least you'll have something to show US Immigration when trying to get back into the USA. (make color copies if possible)

I'll file a trip report and post pics when I return.
