So, there is now a flight to Acklins on Monday's???

Lets see, depart the boat in San Juan on the 4th, give the missus a peck on the cheek and say good bye. Catch a flight to Nassua, watch the super bowl, then on the flatz the next day... It would be a hard sell but it would save some airfare.

Fred, Simple solution is at hand. We take both the missusses from San Juan to Freeport GB drop them off at the resort and then make it to the East end for the bones

It'd be cheaper to send the wife home and go to Acklins.

I can make it on the first two dates in Feb (2/2 or 2/6). The last date is pretty iffy as we'd be getting back on Valentine's Day. BTW, although I know that the trip, overall, should be quite a bit less than one usually pays for guided fishing, could you give me some ball park figure as to what the overall cost (overnight at Nassau, food/lodging/car rental at Acklins), aside from airfare, may be? Not that a few bucks here or there makes any difference to me, just interested.

Anybody open for April?

I can go in April....My Feb and March are all screwed up...

I would love to see the south side of Acklins after spending so much time up north.

Whoa... maybe you A-types could learn to slow down a bit, no? Take the afternoon 'off', wonder around a bit...

First year, first cast I landed a 4# bone. It was 2pm though. We didn't know anything.

Now we know where we want to be a year in advance. Besides we really have the relaxing part down pat... 7pm to dawn.

Seriously, I spend a lot of time just looking at crabs, gobies, mangrove roots, sunsets and the countless marvels of the Bahamian ecology. Probably 20 to 40 fish's worth over the course of the week.

I see a lot of A-types with 'shakes' at Andros airport, counting seconds until they can get a flyline on the water. It's funny, but also a bit sad, to see this singlemindedness. It's a caricature of American lifestyle, and I've worked hard to, if not avoid it, at least suppress it to a point where I can appreciate the much broader experience such an island visit offers.
At the same time, I realiuze I spend a bit more time down there than most, so taking some extra time to appreciate the surroundings is muych easier than on a brief flats fishing trip.
Relax a bit while down there, guys. You'll like it.
