NY-Spey Day?

Not sure if anyone is planning any claves or anything in the NY area, but I was curious to if anyone want to try and meet up on the Salmon River and try our luck with the Spey? I am hoping to meet up with at least a few people to share rotate some pools preferebably in the DSR. Since most of my vacation time is used already, it looks like I am subject to weekends, with some flexiblity of leaving early on Firdays. I am contemplating missing turkey day with the family, and making it a 4 day weekend...but I am pretty felxible most of November and early December........

Sounds like a good idea! I would try to make it. I have a few extra lines and rods to fool around with.

Charlie.

I have never been to a clave before. I was thinking it would be great to run into a few fellow spey casters. Espeacialy on the salmon. If we could pull off all the typical bells and whistles of a clave that would be great, but not necessary. I am contemplating the last weekend in October, but it looks like I may try and squeeze in one last trip to maine... I will be in the NY area on November 11th weekend and will be up there from November 22-26. I may try and also get up to some of the Buffalo areas as well....we'll see how the waether holds, and there is always Decemeber too! Charlie it would be great to run into you again, Perhaps Tom would be around??? Unfortunately Pat & Paulie can't make it to the great lakes this Fall. If any of those dates work out with anyone let me know. So far it looks I will be traveling solo, I am trying to bring a buddy of mine that I recently coverted to the Fly here in the Salt. I am sure he will be jonsing once the Bass are long gone.....

You *know* I am reading this with deep interest but due to life circumstances I can't commit to anything.

In any case I can participate indirectly via keeping the site up and running until I can take one of those rooms in the DSR lodge with the gang one of these days...

If any wants to meet up I will be headed to Salmon from the 22nd to 25th, it would be great to have a few other Spey's to share a pool with and keep all the other rift raft out. This past weekend four of us shared one run for the entire day and fished exclusively with the Spey and Landed 3 fish on the swing in +1800 CFS.

Flesh what run were you on? I was down there last weekend as well. I fished below the tressle pool and had a couple grabs but nothing good. We fished Sandy Creek on sunday and had a pretty good day with the browns.

Were you there on Monday as well, I did see a spey guy at the head of the trestle waiting at the head while his buddy fished the head. I did fish a spot just above the hemlock hole, briefly, just below the tail of the Treslte pool. Looked real fish, but no tugs. Didn't have a chance to fish it hard. We found better swing water in Sportsman area. How was Sandy?
