Shallow water reds. Beaufort, NC 9/30
Tide not high enough to get the fish in the grass. Reds chasing shrimp in
nice sized schools. Nice calm morning....let's go.
Sun coming up and calm water. See a wake coming...
"That's a school of mullet...I'll just cast over there anyw...hey that's a red
and it's going after my fly!"
Work on down the shore. "See them pushing wakes and Wow look at
those shrimp flying out of the water!" Throw that thing in there!
Now it's my buddy Lee's turn..."Try that yellow topwater fly, should work."
"Maybe they'll hit this little size 4 Crease Fly?"
Got a few, missed a few. Great morning. Also filled a bucket with big ol
shrimps that we are having for dinner tonight.
