please can anyone tell me what kind of larve this is?

this larve, see picture, is one i saw when i was fishing a german river with a fly.
Please can someone tell me what kind of larve this is?

It looks like a helgramite - was it aquatic and did it have pinchers?

As a kid I have seen huge helgramites under stones scary looking things. That thing looks pretty harmless in comparison but the body configuration looks like a small version.

To imitate a helgramite pattern or even a stonefly would probably work.

Looks a lot like an aquatic beatle larvae to me. A Woolly Worm type of fly would imitate it.
