Cape Cod - Newbie going to Eastham

Hi. I will be going up to the Cape September 20-24. Staying near Eastham. Does anyone know of any fly shops in that neck of the woods where I can get local fishing info. I'm a total Saltwater newbie and this may be my first time wielding a 9 wt. - hopefully I'll be able to get a casting session or 2 in before I go. Anyone have any pointers, or tips where would be a good place to wet a line? A chance to catch a striper or blue would be nice. Also travelling with my girl - so she may want to tag along - so scenic locations good. (hopefully I can sneak out in the am once or twice.) Secluded would be nice too so I don't take someones head off with a clouser! Haha. Thanks much.

Flyshops - visit Harry at Nauset Angler, East Orleans. A great sponsor of ours and in tune with the fishing. Doesn't carry a huge assortment of fancy frills of flyfishing but is a highly skilled fly tyer and has the right patterns for fishing the area with success.

From Eastham you have Nauset and the National Seashore on the east, and the Pamet and bayside on the west. You are an easy shot to Brewster Flats and not a bad drive to Chatham and Monomoy.

You are in luck, almost all of it is beautiful beach for your lady. This time of year sneaking out on any of the venues above could lead to an all-out blitz, luck of the draw so hit them all!

Keep an eye open for get togethers on this site as well.

I've been fishing the beaches of Eastham and Wellfleet nearly every morning and the fishing has been pretty good - the biggest problem is just how much good territory there is to cover.

If you want company drop me a line - I fish most mornings and several evenings a week there (I work out of Orleans.) As for gear its another thing to learn but having a heavy sinker comes in handy (I use a shooting head myself) especially when the surf is up - you can get by with an intermediate but you will probably catch more fish with the deeper line.
