Recent reports on Odiorne Park (stripers)

I would appreciate any current info on the Odiorne Point area for stripers / blues.

Thanks!

Well...

I am heading out tomorrow night so I will let you know what I find.

Blitzing birds nearby last night but I had no time to check out what they were working on.

When will you be out and about in the area?

Mike

Hi Mike -

good to hear from you!

We have a company picnic there tomorrow and somehow the expectation is that I will put a keeper on the grill for the office crew.

I said "bring hot dogs"

Hit by last minute duties in the AM and arrived there with less than 1 hour to fish before the cookout. Coworker and I walked the rocks and saw nada. Lots of rockweed along the shore, only saw two other people fishing (bait off a rock). Looked pretty dead.

Up in the channel near the boat launch the bait was thick but nothing on them.

Late in the outgoing a line of birds formed from the big red can out front to the north and every boat stopped there to fish, I assume a bit of a feed erupted there. Several hundred yards out.

After the company picnic cruised 1A along the shore as far as Seabrook looking for birds or blitzes. Saw some interesting scenery but no birds or blitzes

A ho-hum day if ever there was one from a fishing perspective but a great outing for the company, nice waterfront park!!

Note: 1A is a great shoreline drive with a few beaches here and there to provide decent fishing access without risking black algae covered rocks and thick weedlines. I'll bet that just before the Cape Ann blitzes that stretch is red hot and the access is plentiful. Early October, maybe after the first storm in late September.

A little slow

It was much hotter in NH at this time last year.

My biggest fish of the year came in a massive blitz a year ago yesterday.

I fished last night and this morning and it was slow. Some action in the Hampton River but they were small.

September is the month for 1A...right through October as well.

Let's just say that I do not drive to Magnolia and Beverly nearly as much anymore!

Mike
