August Update in Gaspé!

Morning!
Thought I'd give you a little update on our fishing conditions.

Yes!! We need rain, however, the fish are there..

We have explored a few more rivers this season...

Ste-Anne levels are nice, presently catch and release (no fishing pressure)
All fish hooked were on dry fly.

Dartmouth is low water, some pools are holding over 100 fish... light tippet and no 12 wets and small dries are doing the work.

York River is low, we have fished the lower pools last week, saw many fresh fish
(large fish) our catches were mostly all on dries.

Pabos river is low, over 70 salmon in Sector 2. We were able to move a few fish on very light tippet and small dries

Presenly raining..... and nights are much cooler.

Only 6 weeks left.....

Happy Fall fishing!!

Ann

Gaspe

I'll be arriving one month from today!
I've been tying smaller flies and will bring some fine tippet.

A,

Have you gotten any rain last week or are your rivers still extremely low? Is there any rain in the forcast for you this coming week?

Morning Venture,
Sorry for the late reply....

I was out fishing and exploring new waters

Gouffre River ( near Québec City) beautiful waters!!

We are expecting rain for the next few days ( 20-40mm )
levels are presently low, but September is coming!!

Water temps are much cooler and salmon behavior changing. ( we landed (no, no..not landed!), but hooked 2 fish yesterday on the York)
Two large salmon. each took a small dry fly aggresively, and both times they broke off .. light tippets!!

Happy Fall Fishing!!

Ann
