Bayside, 6/3 am

Looked at the weather channel about 5:30am and the radar showed breaks in the rain and light winds. Asked the better half if she wanted anything from DD's, "bagels and a coffee please". Figuring I'd be heading home early the first stop was DD's in Brewster, then a look at Paine creek,re Paul C's suggestion. Started drizzling, no signs of fish, but it felt fishy. Went over to Hot Box beach and decided to put the waders on and make a few casts. As soon as I'm geared up the downpour starts. Start walking and casting down the beach. Don't like this tide stage at this spot (high, start of the outgoing) but I do like to work the troughs has the tide drops when I have the time, but I gotta get that coffee to the wife. The rain stopped and it was downright pleasant fishing weather, with fog and FAC or light breezes from variable directions. Figured I'd linger for awhile, wife can zap the coffe in the microwave. Worked the bars and troughs out, it was slow but picked up some arm toggler 20 somethings where you find them. Started getting interesting with fish starting to break over the outer bar but at 10:00 I figured I'd better get the bagels and coffee home. I'm sure it got good towards the bottom and probably spectacular on the incoming. Bottom line is, I was bummed out by the forcast but I think this will turn out to be a banner fishing day on the Cape. Looking forward to hearing how things went down on the elbow.

hehe

Sounds like a ride home to drop off the loot before coming back out for the full drop might have been a good investment

great report - I need a bayside fix soon

based on post-weekend charter reports it sounds like that breakfast delivery cost you a shot at the slug of cows on bait just off the outer bar

Those reports were noted. While tough on foot I'm sure some nice fish would've streamed in on the flood.
