Hi Alex -

Sounds very interesting! Do you fish from shore or a boat?

I hear from friends that the peacocks are absolutely insance fighting fish. I have enjoyed watching folks fish for them on TV.

Peacocks near Rio

I'll be an hour north of Rio at the end of August, how much further would I have to go for Peacocks? I'm not having the best luck finding good flyfishing info for Brazil, aside from saltwater, which I won't have the time for. Like I said, I'll be North of Rio, outside of Petropolis.

check out peacockbassassociation.com you'll get lots of info on places in brazil to fish and lures to use. as for flies i use very large (8"-12") flatwings tied either in bright or flashy colors. the fish are not fussy but will appreciate big baits.
