The Originator of this fly, Daniel Dufour just may be Quebec’s greatest fly tier. He has won many prestigious fly-tying contests with his more artistic flies including the FQSA Salmon Fly Tying World Championship witch he won 7 times making him the FQSA’s only Grand Master. He has invented many patterns for fishing that are now Gaspe standards. This one, the Futura, was developed for fishing his home waters of the Matapedia River. He recommends that this fly be used in very large sizes, 1/0 to 3/0, on overcast days when the water is high.
