Charles river question

I was wondering if any of you know whether or not the Charles River as it runs beside Harvard Square is worth a shot. I've fished the river for bass off Soldiers Field Park with a lot of success, but never in the Harvard area.
As I could walk there from work during lunch, I was thinking it might be an idea to try a few casts. Only thing is, I NEVER see anyone fishing along the bank. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of vegetation along the shore and the water is pretty murky.

Any insights anyone?

Thanks.

Vinny.

There are carp big enough to ride over to Back Bay on in that stretch, or at least there were when I was a kid.

Sidenote: shame to think that the Charles was once a major anadromous thoroughfare for everything from searun brookies to salmon to stripers to shad to sturgeon until they dammed it up right there at the Fleet center and again on Moody St Waltham.

I like the sound of those big carp. I've never caught one, but there's a first time for everything. Thanks for the heads-up, Juro.

I looked at a satellite map of the river between here and Boston harbor and it does look a sorry state with those dams in the way. Just think - I could probably fish for stripers and/or salmon every lunch-time. I'd even take a pay cut.

Here's a link to the map, just click on the satellite tab if the plain version pops up.

I'll bring the rod to work tomorrow and post results (but only if positive )

There's some nice 10+ lb carp around there. If you want to get anything more than carp there you need a boat, or else you need to walk to the Boston side of the river and fish along the Esplanade.

Well, today was a work through lunch day, so better luck tomorrow. In the 15 seconds of daylight I saw, it seemed to be a nice day out. For now, I'm back in the basement with my fellow Morlocks.
