Chuck -

I hear the 'trout' (weaks or squeteague up here), blues, bonito and some spanish macks can be found this time of year. Stripers are reportedly up in the rivers and estuaries.

Gotta be something around. You might drop Gordon Churchill a line...

You can take a water taxi from Harker's I. to Cape Lookout. Lots of fishable water including rips, bars, etc.

I believe there are Bonito around then. Good luck.

Fort Macon Park in Atlantic Beach gives access to the mouth of Beaufort inlet and a good amount of beachfront. There should be spanish, some bonito, blues, maybe some albies around as well as flounder, trout and some reds. The taxi from the Harker's Island Fishing Center will get you out to "The Hook" and has a great drop off to fish all the way around.
