LownClear Longwing

Here is a templedog/swedish long wing version of a fly I have used for years in cold, low, and clear water conditions.

Body: Yellow light bright
Wing: yellow fox, orange fox, brown fox
hackle: "summer duck" or brownish orange spey hackle

Nice pattern -

Two questions:

Did you mix angora or something in with the light bright or does it come pre-mixed?

What about those tubes - I see they are nylon lined?

Very nice fly Philster,

I have been getting into the Templedog style of tubes lately and this one is very well done.

Charlie.

No Juro, the body is just straight light bright. It's rather long strands when pulled from its bag, but give it a little chop with some scissors into the lengths you want it becomes a very "buggy" dubbing. try the white based colors for a saltwater baitfish body.

The tubes are actually the HMH small "cut to length" tubes. Hard, stiff plastic. no liner. Bone cheap. I think 3/32nd diameter? The cone is pre-drilled by HMH to fit that tube.
