Sarp's Seducer

Hi everybody,
I need a photos and recipe of "Sarp's Seducer" pattern (by Tony Sarp, owner of Katmai Lodge in Alaska). It is a great pattern to steelheads.

Thanks a lot,

Patagonian

Patagonian,

I couldn’t find any pictures of this fly but this is the recipe for it. If I get a chance I will make one up this weekend and post a picture.

Sarp's Seducer
TAIL: Pearl flashabou, one-third the length of the hook shank, tied quite
WEIGHT: Eight-amp fuse wire, from tail to three eye lengths back from the eye.
BODY: Gold woven mylar, tinsel, or braided pearl flashabou works well.
UNDER WING: Black over red marabou, one-third longer than the hook and tail length, very full, two plumes each color.
OVER WING: Medium blue flashabou, a bit longer than the marabou, tied very full, somewhat around the fly. Cover the marabou.
EYES: Large silver bead chain.
HEAD: Black thread, and black lacquer.

Charlie

Pantagonian,

Charlie's recipe is dead-bang on.

If you have access to it, a copy of Dick Stewart & Farrow Allen's "Flies for Steelhead" will yield the original Rx and a good photograph.

Based in the recipe and some pics, I tied the Sarp's Seducer.

It's a fantastic pattern to fish the austral fiords of Chile: steelhead, sea run browns trouts, salar and coho salmon.
