Puerto Vallarta

Hey All,
I will be in Puerto Vallarta next month, and I'm hoping to do some fishing. Maybe chasing roosterfish from the beach, or a cheap day out in a panga for Dorado (if that exists). Anyone been fishing in the area? What are the possibilities? I'll probably have an eight and a ten weight with me.
Muchos Gracias,
Tom

I've not fished PV but have done Baja a couple of times and spoken with folks who fish the PV area a lot.

Finding a Panga captain and explaining that you want to flyfish seems to be the way to go and shouldn't cost a lot.

Thanks Adrian,
Any idea what I can expect to pay, or to catch?

probably dorado. expect to pay $120 a day. make sure bait is included (for keeping fish @ the boat). if yo don't speak much spanish, a local agent out of a hotel can help (but you will pay more).

Go to the main page, click destinations and read the article by Bob Veverka on that area - it's phenomenal and will get you pumped for the trip.
