DIY fising around Mahahual Cruise ship dock

hello,
i am a newbie to this board so please bear with me. can anyone tell me about DIY fishing around Mahahual cruise ship dock. is it good fishing, or is there good fishing without going down to the bay, or the famous bridge if i did do it, what kind of flies should i try, would a 8 wt work. is there any need for a sinking line? what kind of fish might i run into. i get of the ship at 7 am so i could be walking the shoreline early. any advice would be great. thanks,

wishing i was fishing.

Per google earth you may be SOL without some wheels to areas around you. I have no direct experience but comparing to other places known for DIY it has very little wade-friendly shore. It does look like there is some insane structure just a tour bus or taxi ride away if you can swing that...
