Happy New Year From the Light

Took my new years ride to Chatham this am. Not much change in the last month and a half.

Is that little bowl isolated into a pond or just an illusion? I caught fish in that at high tide last year.

It is interesting to note that the distance from that pond to the tub appears to be <100 yards? What if...

A tad bit of wishing thinking Jim Can ya just imagine the shoulder to shoulder fishing if it broke through??? Would be worth it to avoid the tub becoming a warm salt water marsh!
Happy New Year to all!
Ron
PS: Florida soon for both our families!!!

My last time fishing there in Oct, the pond was isolated at low water but a substantial gully would allow flushing at higher tide stages. I suspect it's pretty much isolated now. I think the tombolo barrier to the tub will be significantly wider. But who knows what a spring tide nor'easter might do. The south end of Nauset is flat and low, even at low tide. Nauset, I suspect, is extermely vunerable.

Looking at that photo had me daydreaming for a moment. What a place!

Here it is, at dawn, looking the other way.

Happy New Year guys.

'same vantage as Fred's shot...

...but an unseasonably pleasant and sunny day at the beach with a slight breeze and just prior to a noteworthy frisbee toss with Lucy Lu out on the point...
Nice drop offs along the edge...
The "new" elbow looks promising as does the rip at the end of the walkable point...
Weshallsee...
4 more months and counting!

Thanks Pete!

I like the new bowl... incoming twilight tides should be fun after May.

I was going to take some shots there myself yesterday, but got there only to find the batteries in my camera were dead . Either there at different time or didn't see Pete and Lucy frolicking on the spit...better luck next time! Tried fishing that spit during a warm early spring (late March/early April) day last year w/o much luck- probably too early...
