Brits IV (sequel to the sequel)

Well our thoughts are turning to June 2006 and a return visit to Chatham, Cape Cod and the long deferred inauguration at CAC. Around 10 or so are planning to come over in June next. If someone would be so kind as to advise of the best tides over a ten day visit in that month for the Chatham, South Beach and North Monomoy area - we would be very grateful.

This will help us to plan our logistics and give us something to dream about in the doldrum months.

If anyone knows of any suitable accomodation within say a 15 mile radius (although right next to Capt. Keith's house would be the best) I'd also be grateful for any advice.

Thanks guys, look forward to the ritual of the fez and meeting as many as possible.

PS : When do the schools break up next Summer?

Nemo.....what a great attitude you chaps have....you're planning next year and most of us are sulking that it's almost over
Regarding tides....check out this site: http://www.maineharbors.com
Just click on Cape/month/Stage Harbor (South Beach runs about and hour later than Stage).."Chatham outer" will give you surf side.
For sight fishing....look for high tides between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m......of course even at low tide you can be quite successful fishing the channel edge. The above site also gives moon phase and height of tide. Big tides will mean more movement and fish.....but at that time of year, the fish will be there any day.
Place to stay.....I'd advise checkingt he web.....Cape Cod Realty sites....there are plenty of them and with the advance time you have, you should be able to find a house for a decent price.

Maineharbors only goes out to March. Furthurmor, it looks like as of Jan 1 the MA, RI and Conn. tables won't be maintained. Any other good tide tables out there?

Yuo can try here.

I like www.saltwatertides.com online. Goes all the way out 12 months and get up to 15 days worth of tides per page.

Best Tides...

beginning June 11, 2006 at Stage Harbor. Use Adrian's recommendation for tide site. Suffice to say that beginning 11 June there is a mid-day high and the moon tides start to kick-in.

Off-season rates prevail until the last week of June on the Cape, then school is out and the mayhem begins.
