Cooler nights...

The nights are now getting cooler, which usually means a bit of a spike in the warmwater fisheries, especially bass and pike. It usually only takes several days in a row of minute water temperature drops to trigger fish to start the fall fattening up for long winters, especially here in New England.

For those of you chasing these fish, take advantage while you can. You should be rewarded for your efforts.

I hope so! Things have been a little slow for me lately, although I could probably do better if I changed my tactics now and then . This rain should help a bit too.

Yup, it's getting to be that time of year! I'm taking the day off work tomorrow so I'm going to go out bright and early on a local lake to see if the morning action is any good after the long, cold night.
