When I was 3 months old my parents immigrated from the Netherlands to Aruba, a well known paradise for people who like lousy holidays on the beach. Fishing and water have always interested me when I was growing up there. The methods where different from the ones western people would consider the usual. Once I came to Holland to study it took some time to start fishing here. I started with lures and deadbait, but eventually got into flyfishing. As I probably am the only Arubian (originally dutch, but I consider myself Arubian) on most forums and I am proud of my island i started using the nickname "Arubaman" on all the fishingforums. And how funny it is, I still think I am the only Arubian flyfisherman (never heard of another one). Jeff confirmed this about half a year ago, as I was on the island I was chasing the ghosts on the best known flat off the island. We talked to each other and he immediatly asked me if I happen to be Arubaman

So that was a confirmation that I had choosen a good nickname matching my roots.
