Roadtrip........

Have to burn some unused vacation time and have a question for all of you. My sister has recently moved to Seattle and I'm going to head out there to see her. My plan is to take ten days in late September and drive cross country to visit her.

So here is my question. If you were driving across the Northern United States what rivers and or lakes are "must fish" on the way out there? Steelheading in the PNW is already on the agenda but what else should I pencil in. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Oh and what rod weight would you recommend for each body of water?
