Rocky Mountain Striper

Isn't she a beauty. We fished the Weber west of Salt Lake City about a month ago. A big school of fish were in spawning mode. We landed a couple 18 inch browns and some big whitefish as well as a bunch of these large Rocky Mountain Stripers.

Brad -

I guess the striped all merged into one by the time they swam beyond the divide

What species? (excuse my ignorance)

That my friend is the rare Utah Sucker. The state record is 6 pound 6 oz 25 inches. We might have caught some record breaking fish without knowiing what we had. Some came in like logs while others fought like champs. It was better than catching footers on the Provo the day before.
