Looking on the St. Sroix website it is a 4 piece. (I'm assuming it is a U898-4. The only 8'9" rod in the lineup.)

That Ross Colorado is tempting... but I must resist in order to keep my wife from gutting me like a fish for buying more fishing stuff.

Its a 3pc, the pre IPC model, no card, it has a serial number also. Very nice rod as Peter says, I would describe it as that it throws a fly like an 8wt, but fights fish like a heavy 6wt. I bought it for carp in the harbor here in MI. Great rod for that, but so is my T&T DH1107. I am trying to finance a Hardy Angel 11/12 and some Guideline heads right now, my rod-n-reel budget took a hit when my dryer died a week ago. I also have an extra spool for the Colorado that I found when digging around this morning, one spooled with a home made sink tip line, one spooled with an AirFlo 3/4 "finesse" taper I believe, it was a rep promo and didn't have a box, I have fished the reel and line combo, 3 times, landed 3 small trout, in other words, its new.
