6/26 update

The day did not start well, right off the bat I missed a nice fish due to poor casting. Next pod same thing, not on my game. Tide was almost dead low so I moved to the outside. Spotted a few fish in the wash but no takes. Make my way back inside and wait for the tide to start moving. About 12:30 the fish start to move, first bluefish and then stripers. Non-stop action all the way back to the boat. I did give up about 5 flies to the blues… small price to pay. Plenty of quality fish in the mix, bass ranged from 22” – 34”.

Craig, you're killing me! Nice going. I may have to sneak up for the new moon tides next week. The fish should be a little wiser, but still there. May be time to start with the crab and shrimp patterns on lighter tippets.

After Friday's fishing with Ken McCrae, when he is banging fish on his pattern, and I'm doing zilch, I've had some revelations that I've got to try.

I'll be in touch

Jim,

What a second half of a day...fish everywhere. In the fas”d” (you know) moving water a big sand eel did the trick. On the flats think small and thin banged fish. The fish were ON cannot take credit for some great innovation, just cooperative fish. Biggest bluefish landed 34” and eight keeper bass 28”-30”, one at 34”. I missed one nice bass, turned the fish to land and that was it. I confess it was me in BigDave’s post.

Craig we were going to come over to get your autograph but you were hooked up the whole time. That is a stellar day on the flats!

Hey Guys,
Glad to hear things are going well. I will try to post some of the photos from early June, just need to get them scanned.
I had a great time with all and am hopeful to make it up there later this summer.
Tight lines
DK
