How to fish for Salmon?

Hello All,

I am an avid saltwater flyfisherman here in North Carolina where I persue Sea Trout , Redfish , Flounder , blues etc. etc. However , I have yet to catch a Salmon. I have a small boat I can Trailer to most anywhere. Where and when would be the most sure place and time to catch lots of salmon. I am willing to drive most anywhere except Alaska. Recomendations please. Best flys as well would be most appreciated.

If you are looking to bring the boat and catch lots of salmon then Maine would seem like a good bet. Plenty of lakes with a great population of Landlocked salmon.
Syracuse area in New York is a good bet for the salmon that run all the Lake Ontario tribs.
You should specify a little more as to tackle that you would like to use, time you are able to travel,, costs,, etc.
