Winston BIIx 11' 7 wt.

11 foot, 4 piece, 7 weight, Winston BIIx rod. This is THE hot steelhead rod in Michigan. It's length is perfect for mending long drifts. The rod has spey style corks and is very comfortable. It can be over-head cast or used with some spey cast, hence, that is why it is often referred to as a "switch" rod. The rod is in superb condition. Although it has been lightly used, the cork looks showroom new and the blank is flawless. This rod has a MSRP of $615.00. Asking $525.00 which includes two lines - 7 wt SA steelhead/salmon taper and Hardy Mach I spey line plus free shipping. Check or MO. Email or PM for more details. Winston 11' BIIx picture

This rod was designed for and is perfect for Great Lakes' steelhead fishing. The length is ideal and is surprisingly easy to manage. The BIIx technology makes a powerful rod with a tip light enough to feel light steelhead hits and to land them on light tippet. This rod would also be a blast for smallies as well. This rod is being sold to make room for longer spey rods needed for a PNW trip.

This is a fantastic looking rod, with the best cork money can buy. I love mine, as it is a single handed rod (a 11 foot single handed afta rod with a oversized butt) it is great for spring run steelhead.

Spey Casts

Steve,

You are right, it is a fantastic rod. You can also do spey casts with this rod as well. Simon Gawesworth/Rio Products have included it in on their line recommendation chart. They pair it with a WC 5/6. I have a Hardy Mach I line that I have used with it (roughly the same grain weight as the Rio). FYI - the Rio charts are at: http://www.rioproducts.com/pages/speyrecs.asp

Best,
David Dornblaser

Post-Script

I forgot to mention that this rod has a 7 day return privilege (less return postage).

FYI - the value of the two fly lines is about $130.00. Neither line has been used more a couple of times and they are in perfect condition.

Thanks for looking,
David Dornblaser

man is that a sweet looking stick... trying.... to....resist......

I have more rods than a man deserves to but but this rod deserves a good home.

It looks like a perfect Great Lakes two-hander, surprised no one from the midwest has jumped on this one yet.

Chromer,

It is a sweet rod. It is interesting but the inquiries that I have been getting have been from the PNW.
