The Gaspe Highlander. I love it! (although I'd use less G.P. tippet so that it sits completely below the mallard). Very nicely done fly.

Very nice fly.

What kind of feather did you use for hackling the body?

Thanks

Here's the original version as shown in Paul Marriner's excellent book "Modern Atlantic Salmon Flies" It's actually called the Gaspey Highlander
Basically the same as yours except Body hackle is green Mallard and tyed on a homemade hook.
Cheers

Here's the fishing version.I have found you have to tune these flies by picking out the Body hackle on these flies to make them swim better.

Here's a streamer version .Body hackle is green schlappen and wing is Fox Squirrel . I apologise for the appearance of these two flies as they have both been fished.the bottom one is really ratty as it's taken one Atlantic and two Landlocks
Cheers

nice

Hey thanks guys. Love all the flies. Smolt, The body hackle is a chartruece Barred schlappen feather with some Polar chenille mixed in. I have been working on a few speys using a polar chenille for flash. Adds that ever so slight crinkle to the flies that seems to work pretty good. We will see on the steelhead of great lakes.
