Arrow Big Hair Squid

Heres one I tying up at the fly show in wilimington, if your interested in it stop buy an take a look you wount believe how light it is, an has been proven a striper catcher. it's 15"

hooke is Trey Combs 10/0 for the (WIDE GAP) it has
the body is BIG ICE CHENILLE, wraped around the hook
I mean the big stuff, thats what gives the body in shape.
Yak hair 5" long
BIG FLY FIBER (full lenth) 10"
eyes are 3/4" molded
the color is proven to work great, BUT I doing a Blue/Gray one to try out also.
GOOD LUCK GOOD TYIN

Great looking fly. Do you have any problems with fouling?

FISHHAWK, not yet. just a little ( fin-ness) when casting should help. most of the BIG flys I do are use to fish the RIPS an holes FROM BOAT, where you can LOB an drift into BUT, if your going to the fly show Ill be tying them up there, if you wish you can cast on in the POOL an check it out.
GOOD LUCK GOOD TYIN

Did you test it last year?..... or is it to be tested this upcoming Spring?

Hi Salty,

This must be the winter of the squid patterns. Squid flies are fun to tie but take more effort and time. Imagine tying dozens of 'em and how long it would take?

I have a squid question that's related to this subject on the saltwater forum.

JIM, YES last season. while the squid guys were having a good time catching. the fly caught more then some, im going w/ the fly floated more in the water, giving stripers more time to see it, an making it a easer squid to eat, then reg-squid bait did. GOOD LUCK GOOD TYIN
