Getting Stocking Foot Waders Off

I just purchased a pair of breathable stocking foot waders. In practice I have a difficult time getting the stocking foot off my bare foot. I don't want to rip the neoprene and I am concerned my current technique will do that over time. Should I wear a thin sock? Talcum powder? What do the experienced people do?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Definetly socks. I use 2 pairs: one thin specialized wick away (moisture) sock under a good heavier synthetic or wool sock. The rationale: 1. stops the problem you are experiencing; 2. dry skin ='s warm skin; 3. if you do a lot of walking, with 2 pairs, you will never get blisters.

Dear Striperstriper.............thanks for providing #4 and with out a doubt, THE most important reason to wear socks.....it's just the sportsmanship way of protecting the flats environment.

Isn't the water in Louisiana a little warm for waders? Being from Maine, I would be wet wading Otherwise, the responses you've gotten work up here too.

Yes, Lousiana water is warm but I will be in Idaho when I'm wearing the waders.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll be wearing socks.
