simple and effective

this fly has probably taken more fish for me on my local waters than any other. it has been basterdized into many forms but this thing performs. the tube has lessened the short strike ratio and i think it's now the next generation to stay. yet another baitfish pattern for lake erie tribs.

Purple and White is one of my favorite color combinations for the great lakes. The bunny strip gets some great action also. Nice rendition on the tube Nick.

Black Fancis,

Very nice fly. Please post the dressing for those who haven't been tying for years and those who haven't learned how to tie from a photo or example of the fly. Thanks.

sorry, here it is.

Hook: AJ #5 or 1" plastic tube
thread: red 6/0 uni
eyes: 3/32 eye balz tied in on bottom of hook/tube
wing: white zonker strip
body: purple haze slf in dubbing loop

spin the slf in the dubbing loop, wrap it and brush it out with velcro, then pull it down and trim it off. black over purple, grey over white and olive over white are effective as well.
