If you tie a lot of heavy duty flies for saltwater, bass, deer hair head trimming, kevlar thread, don't like using those $$ scissors for trimming near the hook eye on hvy wire hooks, want to cut felt for crab flies, ultrahair, metallic materials, cut thru feather stems on big hackles, etc, etc, etc...
I'll be darned! These small Fiskars are what I use and they're 'totally cool' for the application(s) described. You should be able to get these small Fiskars at any good hardware store. Mine actually came as a set (full size + small ones) at Costco.

I got them at Micheals or Fabric World or one of those craft stores, which is the second best place to find totally unrelated stuff to apply to flyfishing... besides Costco!
The amount of use my fancy FF scissors get dwindles each season. I used to use them just for tough materials, but I tried them for my muddler heads and they are awesome - just squeeze and trim around, rotary vise makes it real easy. I save my fancy scissors for spey flies and trout flies.
