Loomis GL3

Well, I just ordered my winter preoject: A 9ft 7weight G. Loomis. For other materials, a full wells grip, black anodized aluminum real seat, fghting butt, snake guides and an extra large tip top. I'm hoping it to be a good sight fishing rod, and have enough guts for a decent stream smallmouth. For threads all black with a scarlet butt wrap. Only my second build, but I've got caught the bug here.

I wish I had more time to build another stick. It's fun isn't it... The best part is you can make it exactly the way you want it.

flyjkol, You mentioned you're going to use an extra large tip top. I am curious, What purpose does that serve?

In regards to your question Jim,

the large tip is so the fly line shoots better with less friction.

I'm putting the finish on tonight so I'll have pictures soon
