Rhea & Ostridge tubes

Here follows a series of tubes that I have been playing with - They have morphed from the tubes of Lloyd "Moose" Murray (originator of the "Moose's Ugly" for Chinook) with the input of Todd Scarf of "Upstream Advertures" The first few tubes are the "Moose's Ugly"

Love those ties, speydoc. Have to tell you, seeing that Moose's Ugly in person sure caused a little spending spree in Fish Tales that day. I've been playing with my own take on your pattern; hopefully I can get around to posting some. Got your PM, will get on a reply ASAP.

Speydoc,
I think I can figure most of it just by looking but would you mind posting some tying info. Those are mindblowing

Undertaker
The madness is addictive! & I love spreading it around!!?!
Gillie
Dressing as follows:
Tube - HMH freshwater "cut to length" tubing, about 1.25"
Body - rear part is Gudebrod hollographic braid, wraped over slow set superglue followed by two wraps of an Eztaz style crystal cheneill, to act as a shoulder and flare the "hackle"
Hackle - three wraps of rhea, followed by one to two wraps of dyed Amherst centre tail, followed by two to three wraps of marabou, followed by crystal flash(I am partial to the new mirage style crystal flash), followed by about eight strands of ostridge(you can create spots with a marker pen), followed by three wraps of marabou.Colours are your own choice - try and keep all the components of the hackle on the sparse side for optimal action. If weight is desired add small brass dumbells - the idea is to keep it light so that you can cast it with minimal effort. These are large reactionary flies with plenty of movement that the fish have no difficulty in seeing - takes can be quite agressive!
Enjoy - speydoc
