Question Vancouver, BC

what are the chances of some atlantic salmon fishing for this area in October?

Pretty slim since it faces the Pacific. There are some Salmon farms in Puget Sound that Atlantics escape from, but I don't know of anyone who has caught one. From now through October should be Coho and Steelhead should start to pick up after that. There will be Chum too, but it's not a real table fish.

I have caught the escapees before but like matt said the coho fishing should be great around this time.

Are you catching those Atlantics in the salt or are they actually trying to make it up some river?

The ones I caught were just out in the salt but we found 3 atlantics in a little estuary on the West side of Bainbridge and they had started to turn for a run up. quite fun to get those 12-15 pound fish on a 6wt
