Question Bob's Banger hooks

Looking to tie up a handful of Bob's Bangers, but don't have any popper hooks that are big enough for these.

In looking around for some 4/0 popper hooks, I'm not coming up with any of the originally specified hooks. Seems this tie started on an Eagle Claw 9566, which I can't find. Then to a TMC long shank (no hump) hook, which now seems to be out of producation in a 4/0.

Has anyone tried the Eagle Claw 066N hook (only 2x long?)?

How about the Mustad 92611?

Any other suggestions or sources?

Thanks,

mark

I tie mine up using either Mustad 34011 (not very sharp)
Or, more recently I have been using the Mustad signature S 74S SS. These are very sharp from the packet and quite a thick wired hook.

Question

Hey Stevo,

Thanks for the response. Is that s74ss a kinked shank hook?

I've been using the 34011 for crease flies and gurglers, but have only found it up to 3/0, and I think I would like a wider gap for the bangers.

anyone tried Owner 5320?

Mark

No it's straight like a 34011. The gape is similar as well. Not very wide.
