One free day - where to go (RI/CT)?

Hey guys, looking for some advice. I have a friend who has one free day this week to fish the ocean for the first time. I live in NJ right now, so we could go local, but it's been a little slow for the most part, so I'm thinking about a roadie north for a day. I know the Cape well, but not RI or CT at all, and that's about as far as we could go. So my question is - is that worth it right now? And if so, any general suggestions about where to go? Many thanks.

Four words:

South County Rhode Island

Take exit 92 in CT and follow route 2 south to the route 78 connector. Follow route 78 down to route 1, and you're in the heart of RI fall fishing. Any of the breachways and beaches are accessible from route 1. I'm sure some of the locals will provide more info.

Bass, blues, and albacore....can't get much better than that.
