"Abrames/Popovics Fusion" on a tube

Inspired by Penguin, a single tube combining hollow-phleye and phlatwing technologies to produce the illusion of life. The folks south of the border have "discovered" that lightly dressed/see-thru patterns are scoring better on fussy Roosterphish that the close-copy "still life" versions of the past. Cabalito (big-eye scad) is a favorite live-bait for Senor Pez Gallo

The HMH tube fly device is now on my shopping list. For an ultra cheap solution, take a piece of coat-hanger wire, beat one end phlat and phile the other end into a mandrel and away yer go. Not very 'purdy' but it works in a pinch

Waytogo Adrian!

Some swell phusion!
Pretty cool when you can take a fuzzy notion and run with it like that!
Technical styles that work as well as they look...NICE JOB!

FYI...the HMH tube tool comes in two versions...
The minimalist will work but the delux model comes with a premium mandrel set that incorporates a flange near the head to better hold the tube and resist rotation.

Here's the more traditional deceiver that pushed me toward a tubular application...and a squid that lends itself to a tube...
