This evening I overheard talk between CG station Woods Hole (I think) and another boat that claimed to have just spoken with the Avaricious. Just a couple of minutes later the Avaricious was hailing the CG. The transmission was broken, so the CG asked the Avaricious for a cell #. He never came back on; the CG repeatedly tried hailing him. Not sure if it was an imposter or something else. As I was pulling back into Newport a CG plane put out a pan pan asking everyone to be on the look out for the Avaricious. So, who knows, maybe he's back??
