Run expectations???

As of now it will close as of October 1st and will not open until WLAP ascertains that sufficient numbers of fish are present. This will be based primarily on the Albion test fishery. I do not expect that enough data will be collected until at least the end of October for them to decide.

There has been a recent flurry of activity going on around the closure and there will be a public meeting in Spence's Bridge on September 18th. Both levels of government (Federal and Provincial) as well as all the stakeholder groups will be there. If any changes to the plan are in the wind I suggest they will be revealed here.

Further to what Kush said,

First nations around Lytton (sp) issued a press release today requesting the closures of sport fisheries begin today. The main reason quoted for their concern was high water temps and angling pressure on salmonid stocks.
